Community Health Plan Uganda started as a community-based organization licensed by the department of community-based services wakiso district in 2007. The organization focused at providing medical care to the community at affordable prices and/or free cost and helping the orphans/needy. Community Health Plan Uganda later became a non-governmental organization on provisional license issued by NGO Board in 2017.Up on completion of provisional license, community health plan was fully registered and a permit was issued to operate an indigenous non-governmental organization. Community Health Plan Uganda owns three health facilities in Uganda; Community Hospital Lugoba Kawempe, Community Health Center Kaliro and Community Health Center Kibuku. Community health plan Uganda health facilities are accredited by the Uganda medical and dental practitioner’s council which registers all private health units /doctors for practice in Uganda. To date, community health plan Uganda is one of the organizations which run health facilities offering free ARVs to people living with HIV/AIDS .
